Other than birds and tigers, one can find here many animals like leopards, elephants, spotted deer, sambar, nilgai, hog deer, barking deer, sloth bear, wild boar, ghural, langur and rhesus monkey, etc.

What This Park Offers?

This park is in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district and people who come here can enjoy many things:

One can enjoy a jeep, canter, or elephant safari. Among different safaris, adults, and youngsters like the jeep safari, and mostly kids like the elephant safari. Canters are best for big groups of 10 - 15 people because they can accommodate around 16 people. You can choose any kind of safari that you like. The safari takes place inside the particular zones of the park and those zones have assigned routes for safaris. It has 8 zones named as Jhirna, Dhela, Bijrani, Dhikala, Durgadevi, Sonanadi, Pakhro, and Garjia.

Apart from safari rides, this park has a museum and it has information about the conservation or the history of Corbett Tiger Reserve. One can visit there and the museum has belongings of Jim Corbett like his final hunt, letters, photographs, manuscripts, etc. People can also purchase different handcrafted items from that place.

Zones Of Jim Corbett

This wild park has 8 tourism zones so that people can enjoy unique animal sighting experiences. Every zone has a different route and each zone offers different experiences. Let’s know about them in detail

Jhirna Zone

This zone is open all the year and people can enjoy a ride here at any time. Animals like sloth bears and majestic wild elephants are found here in most numbers and one can spot them easily. Other animals that can be spotted on Luck include wild bears, jackals, tuskers, sambar, species of deer, and birds like hornbill, woodpecker, owl, eagle, etc.

Dhela Zone

Just like Jhirna, this one remains open all around the year. It was newly opened in December 2014 and trees like Sal, Haldu, Bahera, Rohini, and Kusum can be seen here. One can enjoy the natural beauty of this zone with magical birds chirping sounds. Animals like elephants, sloth bears, and king cobras can be spotted here apart from beautiful birds.

Bijrani Zone

This zone is not open during monsoons, it only remains open from 15 Oct to 30 June This zone is widely famous among people and it has good scenic views. It has a large grassland area which provides the perfect area for tigers so yes, they can be spotted here. Other animals like wild elephants, sloth bears, and beautiful birds can also be spotted here near water streams.

Dhikala Zone

This one is among the most famous zones and it remains open from Nov to June every year. It has a huge grassland area which provides the best food option for herbivores. Barking deer, Spotted deer, wild boars, etc. can be easily spotted grazing here. Tigers and leopards pay a visit here to hunt those herbivores. This zone also has attraction spots.

Durgadevi Zone

This zone remains open only from 15 Nov to 15 June and remains closed during other times. This one is a hilly area and it has a particular sighting area known as Domunda Bridge where elephants and otters can be spotted. Here you can spot a lot of different species of birds in good numbers. Masheer fish can also be seen here.

Sitabani Zone

Here sightings of herbivores are possible like elephants, deer, sambars, Nilgai, and many more. It’s the safest zone to come with kids and sightings of animals like tigers and leopards are not possible here. It has various river streams where beautiful birds can be spotted. This one is the most scenic zone of the park that will be best for nature lovers.

Garjia Zone

This one is always open and is widely famous among locals as Ringora Zone. It has dense forests and natural beauty that attracts tourists to see flowering plants. It is in the most picturesque part and it’s a calm place. Many sots (small water streams) are there in the zone where many animals can be spotted drinking water.

Phato Zone

This zone is open at all times and it offers sightings of beautiful flowering trees. You can enjoy a magical experience of natural beauty by coming here. Rare birds can be spotted here and you can click some nice pictures at this place. It has a treehouse and elephants are the most seen animal in this zone.

How To Reach Jim Corbate National Park

Jim Corbett is a famous spot and it is located in the Uttarakhand’s Nainital and Pauri Garhwal districts. The nearest city to this scenic and wild park is Ramnagar and it can be easily reached. One can easily get to this place by bus, train, road, or flight.

By Air	This area does not have an airport, however, one can come to the Phoolbagh airport in Pantnagar which is around 70 km. If someone is coming from other countries then the nearest international airport is in Delhi which is just 250 km.
